POS systems that keep the counter moving

Point of sale is latency, receipts, tax, staff permissions and what happens when the card network is slow. Hirvex Technologies builds POS and back-office software for retail and restaurant groups that need more than a generic register. Hardware varies by site; we design for the devices you actually use.

Who this is for. Retailers and restaurant operators who need counter speed plus inventory and reporting that match the brand.

Problems we typically meet

These are the patterns that show up before a useful first release—not abstract “digital transformation” language.

  • The register is fast but inventory and recipes live elsewhere.
  • Multi-location pricing and tax are managed by tribal knowledge.
  • A cloud POS fails when the dining room Wi-Fi does.
  • Managers cannot see product mix until the accountant finishes the week.

How we approach the work

We time the ticket: add item, modify, pay, print. Then we design catalog, modifiers, discounts and voids with permissions. Offline behaviour is decided explicitly. Back office covers stock, staff and end-of-day. Payment integrations use the processors you already have a merchant account with.

What a serious first release can include

Scope is confirmed in discovery. This is the shape of work we are equipped to deliver—not a menu you must buy in full.

  • Counter and floor POS flows
  • Catalogs, modifiers, combos and location pricing
  • Tax, discounts, voids and staff permissions
  • Receipt and kitchen/ticket printing where device APIs exist
  • Inventory hooks for retail or recipe-level restaurant stock
  • Multi-location reporting
  • Payment provider integrations you already use

What we need from you

A useful brief is better than a long one. If you can answer most of the following, we can propose a first slice instead of a theatre estimate.

  • Who will use this, and what must they finish in a session?
  • Which systems must stay (accounting, payments, identity, a shop)?
  • What is already live that we should not break?
  • Any hosting region, language or compliance rule that is non-negotiable?
  • The date that actually matters—and why.

How an engagement runs

Four steps. No mystery bench.

01

Brief

You describe the users, the job to be done, current tools and any hard date or constraint. A page is enough.

02

Scope

We reply with clarifying questions and a first-release outline: modules, roles, integrations and what “done” means.

03

Build

Named engineers work in visible increments, with staging you can click and a weekly written status.

04

Run

Launch, handover and a support path. The system is yours to operate—not a black box we disappear from.

Questions we are asked

Do you sell POS hardware?

No. We engineer software that talks to printers, scanners and terminals when those vendors provide interfaces. You purchase hardware through your channels.

Can this work if the internet drops?

If that is a requirement, we design a local-first or hybrid mode and a reconciliation path. It is not automatic; it is a product decision.

Can you integrate a specific payment terminal?

If the provider offers a supported SDK or API and you have a merchant relationship, we can usually integrate it. We do not reverse-engineer closed devices.
